My Charitable Donation: The Daytonians

This is from an lp... I know. But I have a good excuse.. it's amazing and I bought it for charity. After the recent Haiti disaster, the record community bonded together and raised thousands of dollars by donating records for auction and then giving the money to charity. Doctors without Borders got a sizable donation from me and in return I got this. The best LP I own (though I don't own that many.)

For Sonny

It's hard to keep up a blog, even if you love it, if you do not think anyone is reading it. But, my friend Sonny requested I start again... so as long as it seems people are reading and listening I will keep it up and post a new one every day.

This 45, on the Fame label, is a cheapie, less than 5 bucks, but should be in everyone's collection. It is easily in my top 5 favorite songs these days and is also one of Elvis' favorites. Originally written and performed by Joe South, Hightower owns this song much in the way Aretha owned "Respect." The incredible Fame gang backs up this Rick Hall production. This song has been resonating for me a lot lately and I really hope you like it as much as I do.
